Some of us are better at dealing with these distractions than others, but it can be debilitating to the task at hand. I have WorkFlowy up and running right next to my IDE at all times and it has dramatically improved my productivity. It’s lightning fast, and can search through the entire bible in milliseconds. It let’s you write down bullets and that’s about it. All are great tools, but the power of WorkFlowy is in its simplicity. I’ve used many notes apps over the years. Without being able to classify and quantify the severity of these tasks, they ultimately just become a long list of things we’ll “get around to someday”.Įnter WorkFlowy, an incredibly simple yet powerful text editor. Most modern IDE’s do a decent job of allowing you to mark down todo’s and other keywords to come back to later, but these are antiquated implementations at best. Unfortunately, it’s all too easy to give into these distractions and lose focus on the task at hand. Just fixing one minor bug can un-layer countless other issues that need to be addressed at some point. We know we can’t multi-task, and there are plenty of great articles explaining why and what that means for us.Īs developers, we are constantly bombarded with things that we need to do.
